The prairie here is wide open, void of trees with the exception of pines far off in the distance. The warm summer air is filled with sweet notes of the Meadowlark's song.
The gentle swirling breeze picks up in strength causing wave-like ripples along the tips of the tall grasses as they dip and sway with rhythmical movement, reminiscent of the surface of water.
Little effort is needed to find oneself slowly slipping away into a peaceful daydream.
Prairie Grass Art:
Foxtail Barley Grass is often referred to as Squirrel Tail and Bobtail Grass. It's graceful dance is captured in these photographs, creating a tranquil mood.
Patches of Foxtail Grass spread through the prairie like a winding stream. Below, the lavender petals of the Lewis Flax dot the landscape.
"I was influenced by the natural brown tones within the landscape. The result was this sienna toned artwork, which made the light purple blossoms even more eye-catching." -Alison
