Then, I noticed one lone sunflower apart from the others near the back of the field. Right away, I knew I had my key subject. There was something special about this sunflower, all alone on the outskirts of the crop.
Beside a quiet country lane on the plains of Colorado, there sits an old house, once the home to a prominent ranching and coal mining family, now a vacant abode where only the memories remain.
This is a view that the farmer must have seen each day as he walked past the silo, toward the whitewashed house. He would enter the house through the screened porch and find himself in the kitchen as a hearty mid-day meal, prepared by his wife, was being placed on the table.
