My Story

I find connection in the quiet places in nature—the worn paths, weathered wood, and landscapes shaped by time.  My aim isn’t to capture a specific place as it appears, but to capture what remains—the feeling, memory, and sense of connection that a place leaves behind.

My paintings are created through layers of texture, collage, and paint, allowing traces of age, memory, and natural influence to emerge. The softened edges, imperfect surfaces, and subtle layers of history found in weathered materials often become part of the story within each piece.

I create artwork for those who want to bring a sense of quiet connection and the restorative feeling of nature into their everyday surroundings. My hope is that each piece becomes a meaningful presence in a home—a reminder to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the beauty around us.

 

Alison Sherrow is a mixed media artist based along the Front Range mountains of Colorado. Her creative journey began with photography, eventually evolving into encaustic and mixed media painting.
